Soper's Hole on the West End is where the island's first Dutch settlers landed in 1648.  This sheltered harbor is a major anchorage and port of entry.  Tortola's main Ferry terminal is here, as well as a sea plane ramp and customs and immigration facilities.  Across the harbor, connected by bridge is Frenchman's Cay.
